Harman & Sharon’s engagement was a meaningful start to their wedding story. I photograph a lot of couples during their first photoshoots together, so I know how important it is to create space for them to ease into the experience and feel like themselves in front of the camera. For their engagement session, we kept the portraits natural, guided and true to them. I loved being able to give direction while still leaving room for candid moments to unfold. Their portraits were documented on a mix of digital and 35mm film, which gave their gallery a nostalgic, timeless feeling when looking back at the images now. As a South Asian wedding photographer, I love capturing engagements & weddings in ways that feel meaningful from the very beginning while documenting the little moments couples may not even realize are happening.
